American Floral Endowment Welcomes New Recruit Lori Ostrow

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The American Floral Endowment (AFE) is proud to announce Lori Ostrow as its new communications specialist.

Ostrow will work closely with AFE Executive Director Debi Aker on media relations, social media management, the quarterly bulletin, donor cultivation and website management.

"It's wonderful to be joining such a lovely, vibrant team and helping 'grow' the floriculture and environmental horticulture industries," Ostrow said.

She has over four years of experience working in the media industry, and currently volunteers at the nonprofit organization Kadamba Tree Foundation – which provides family caregivers with services and support.

Before joining AFE, Ostrow managed CBS Radio's local Washington news website.

She also previously worked for three years as a digital producer for APN News & Media in Queensland, Australia.

Ostrow was born and raised in Philadelphia, and graduated from Goucher College in Maryland with a degree in communications and media studies.

She moved to Australia after graduation, having fallen in love with the country during her study abroad program at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Ostrow stayed Down Under until 2013, living and working in sunny Brisbane.

She enjoys hiking and exploring Old Town Alexandria, and is excited to learn more about the floral industry
