ALEXANDRIA, VA – The American Floral Endowment (AFE) has announced the development of its new Business Internship Program – specifically targeted to draw business students to the dynamic floral industry. Now's your chance to host an intern and help enthusiastic students contribute to your organization and the floral industry!
This new program will introduce young business professionals to the world of flowers and promote the floral industry as a viable career path.
With support from participating industry organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada, students will gain practical business experience and develop essential skills to help the floral industry prosper.
Open to manufacturers, wholesalers/suppliers, retail floral shops, importers and growing operations, AFE will provide participating host employers with full-time interns in the following business-related areas:
- Management
- Accounting
- Marketing/Communications
- Information Technology
- Sales
- Analytics
- Logistics
- Digital Marketing
- Graphic Design/Creative
- Human Resources
Paid internships will range from 10 to 12 weeks and will provide juniors, seniors and graduate students with experiential learning opportunities in an exciting, fast-paced industry.
After successful completion of an internship, students can qualify for one of four annual $2,500 scholarships.
The internship program was established in 2015 by a significant contribution from Del Demaree, Chairman of Syndicate Sales, Inc. Del is a past AFE Chairman with 60-plus years of experience in the floral industry, with business acumen and an unsurpassed commitment to the industry.
