Wholesaler Perspectives:
Walter Rojahn, Chairman, Rojahn & Malaney Company ~
“Within the floral industry, communication between wholesalers and wholesale
suppliers is critical to maintaining the effectiveness of the floral
wholesaler’s position in distribution. In these challenging times, it has never
been more important to have the ability to communicate effectively between both
suppliers and wholesalers.
That is why our company is looking forward to attending the WF&FSA Floral
Distribution Conference. We intend to send both buyers as well as management to
this event and look forward to networking with current suppliers as well as new
contacts. I applaud the Board of Directors for establishing this new format
which can offer us the ability to efficiently work with suppliers on an
exclusive basis.”
Billy Hardin, President, Hardin’s Wholesale Florist ~
“I like everything I see about the new WF&FSA Floral Distribution Conference.
It sounds very good, and it will quickly become the place to be on 11/3.”
Zak Baisch, Director of Sales and Procurement, Baisch & Skinner Wholesale
Floral Distributor ~
“I feel like all of the stars are aligning for the 2010 WF&FSA Floral
Distribution Conference. Miami is the North American hub of the flower industry
and because it is so accessible to vendors and growers from all over the world,
I expect a great turn out. To top it off, The Doral is a beautiful resort with
great facilities for the educational programs and a great atmosphere for
networking.”
Rob “Letterman” Shibata, President, Mt. Eden Floral Co. ~
- #10 I will be there with enough cigars for anyone who wants to hang out
and solve all our industry problems. (Ha Ha!) - #9 If you like to Golf, the Doral is a dream. You can golf twice as much
because the rooms and registration are so . . . oh, see #4 & #5. If you don’t
like to golf, see #10. - #8 Hospitality suites are back! You know what that means . . . free food
and beverages while you talk with industry friends. - #7 New product displays and meetings with vendors all in one place. That’s
super productive for your buyers. - #6 Go to Miami. Kill two birds with one stone! Do some business with your
vendors and learn everything going on in our industry at the same time. Kill
three birds by staying longer for a little vacation! That’s real efficiency! - #5 The Doral Resort for $129/night. Unbelievable! That price is worth the
trip by itself. The Doral is located right next to the airport flower
district. I’m going to put four guys in each room for extra savings! - #4 The registration is CHEAP!!! I can send 6 people for the same cost as
one person last year. Stop going out to lunch one day every other week and
you’ll pay for your whole crew to go. Also see #5. - #3 Learn something. The education will focus on practical, workshop style
sessions. Experienced based information you can take back to your business and
use right away. Whatever I don’t learn from #2, I’ll learn here. - #2 Learn from your own industry. Inspire and be inspired by other business
operators like yourself. Share your business tips, tricks, and techniques for
success with each other. - #1 The number one reason to attend the 2010 WF&FSA Floral Distribution
Conference is because: You are important to our industry. We need your input
and participation to keep the wholesale floral industry strong. You have
something to contribute. And there will be plenty to receive (see #1 – #10).
Mt. Eden Floral Co. will not just go to the conference. We will be participating
in the conference. This is not a conference for show. This is a conference for
participation and interaction amongst your peers. We hope to see all of you
there.

The format of the WF&FSA Floral Distribution Conference is excellent!! It takes
into account many important aspects. To name a few:
- The time of year is perfect prior to upcoming holidays.
- Economically, it is perfectly bundled for easy transportation, low cost
housing and admission to the conference … everyone is watching costs. - The locale is great with many opportunities to conduct commerce, visit
suppliers & logistical entities. - Perfect resort facility for recreation and informal meeting options.
- Easy access and low fares in/out for air travel for both domestic and
international flights.
Vans will be well represented. Our buyers and managers can make good use of this
opportunity.
Susan Weatherford, Vice President, Southern Floral ~
With the current economic environment and this evolving industry, Southern
Floral has come to rely more heavily on the information provided by WFFSA . We
utilize the statistics from the Operating Report to compare our operations to
our peers.
In addition, information provided by WFFSA, including the teleconferences, have
been great instructional and motivational tools used by our managers and sales
staff.
The wholesalers we have spoken to are appreciative of the reasonable convention
pricing and great programs offered.
Southern Floral plans on attending the WFFSA Convention for the first time in
several years. “We can’t afford not to!!!!
