Summer Fancy Food Show Named A ‘Top 100 Event’

NEW YORK  – The Summer Fancy Food Show has been named one of New York's top 100 most powerful events by BizBash, the leading trade media for event professionals.

The show is the largest marketplace devoted exclusively to specialty foods and beverages in North America. BizBash named it No. 2 of six Food and Restaurant Industry events. The Specialty Food Association, the show's owner and producer, is a long-time supporter and sponsor of No. 4 on the list, the annual Citymeals-on-Wheels Chefs' Tribute at Rockefeller Center.

To select and rank these events, BizBash considers a number of factors, including economic impact, buzz, innovation, and the event's prominence within the communities it intends to serve. The Summer Fancy Food Show and the rest of New York's Top 100 Events list can be found at bizbash.com/top-100.

"Year after year, New York sees some of the most influential events in the world," says BizBash editor in chief Anna Sekula. "These gatherings not only have a significant impact on the city and the industries they serve, but demonstrate the importance of live experiences in an increasingly digital world."

"We are honored to have our show recognized as a top New York event," says Specialty Food Association President Ann Daw. "The food scene is thriving, and our show continues to attract important buyers eager to make new connections with food artisans and entrepreneurs."

The next Summer Fancy Food Show takes place June 28 – 30, 2015, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The 2014 show in New York was the largest since the event's debut in 1954. The sold-out exhibit halls featured close to 1,500 U.S. exhibitors and 1,200 from around the world, and filled 361,000 sq. ft. of exhibit

Amid record demand for specialty food, the show drew 22,000 attendees from top names in retailing and restaurants, including Whole Foods, Dean & DeLuca, Kroger, Le Pain Quotidien, and buying delegations from Europe and countries as diverse as Uruguay, Paraguay, Albania, and China.

The Summer Fancy Food Show is a trade-only event. Registration is now open for the 2015 show at fancyfoodshows.com. The pre-show discount registration price for buyers is $35 through May 15 for all three days of the show.
