Many shoppers depend on food labels to help them make nutritionally sound purchasing decisions at the supermarket.

But what about fresh-prepared foods at the deli, which aren't sold with serving size and nutritional analysis on a label?

Starting April 9th, a partnership between Sendik’s Food Markets and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Nutritional Sciences Program will provide Sendik's shoppers with nutritional facts on selected deli items.

Food labeling and nutrient analysis software donated by the local grocer to the UWM Nutritional Sciences Program will allow registered dietitians at UWM to provide analyses on deli items labeled with a green checkmark.
