COLUMBUS, Ohio (November 20, 2009) METTLER TOLEDO is pleased to introduce the new IND560x intrinsically safe weighing terminal, which brings uncompromising performance and versatility into hazardous areas.
Designed for both process control and manual weighing operations, the IND560x sets the new benchmark for weighing in Division 1 or Zone 1/21 areas.
The IND560x features analog or Electro Magnetic Force Restoration (EMFR) weighing technologies, offers discrete input/output options, and communicates via serial, Ethernet and a variety of PLC interfaces. It also features a highly-configurable operator interface with numerous programmable, on screen prompts.
Weigh, control, connect and comply simply and efficiently with the IND560x terminal.
Weigh
The IND560x excels in controlling filling and dosing applications. It delivers best in class performance with a target update rate of 50 Hz. This means once a set point is reached, users can trigger a process control in only 20 ms. The IND560x is available with an analog or high precision scale interface, to deliver precise, repeatable measurements from milligrams to tons, in manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic operations.
The IND560x is ideally suited for manual weighing applications. The SmartTrac graphic display provides operators with unmistakable weighing transaction status, helping to reduce errors and eliminate waste. The IND560x supports up to 20 programmable, on screen prompts to assist an operator through complex operations.
Control
The IND560x allows users to control devices directly in the hazardous areas without the need to use expensive barriers or purges. As well as the traditional passive/passive I/O control, the IND560x now offers internal active/active piezo solid state I/Os. This has an advantage over traditional passive/passive systems by reducing the wiring, simplifying the installation, and reducing the capital investment needed.
Connect
With direct connection capability to the communications accessory moduleACM500, the IND560x opens a world of communication possibilities. The ACM500 provides bi-directional communication between the weighing terminal and the higher-level automation system, such as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or DCS (Distributed Control Systems), allowing the terminal to be used in a variety of enhanced production applications. The ACM500 and IND560x can be connected using either a copper wire-carried current loop signal or a fiber optic connection. The ACM500 allows the IND560x to communicate with several devices using multiple protocols simultaneously: PLC, Ethernet TCP/IP and serial.
Comply
The IND560x is designed for the global market and is approved to local standards by FM (US and Canada), ATEX (EU) and NEPSI (China).
