Pittsburgh, PA. – Kretschmar® Premium Meats & Cheeses has joined forces with SHOP n' SAVE and country music star Easton Corbin to donate $1,000 to Make-A-Wish® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Kretschmar made the donation at Corbin's concert at the 40th annual EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta on Friday as part of its Legendary Wishes campaign, which helps Make-A-Wish grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Corbin, three-time American Country Award winner and Kretschmar brand partner, invited wish kid David backstage before his performance, and presented a donation of $1,000 to Make-A-Wish. David is living with chronic kidney disease. He loves country music and was excited to meet Corbin, receive this check, and enjoy Corbin's performance.
"It was an honor to present Make-A-Wish with a check for $1,000 to help bring more wishes to children," said Corbin. "I'm proud to show my support for this cause. This is something really special that Kretschmar is doing across the country to make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions."
Corbin hit the music scene in 2009 with a #1 single, "A Little More Country Than That" and won several Breakthrough Artist awards. Since then, he has released three hit albums with songs including "Roll With It," "Lovin' You is Fun," and "All Over the Road." Corbin has a full touring schedule in 2017 and is currently working on his fourth studio album.
"We so appreciate Kretschmar and SHOP n' SAVE for supporting our mission and helping us to grant wishes to Pittsburgh children with critical illnesses like David," said Stephanie Pugliese, Make-A-Wish Director of Development.
Since 2012, Kretschmar has contributed more than $650,000 to Make-A-Wish nationally, and sponsored more than 12 wishes with local chapters through the brand's Legendary Wishes campaign.
With the help of retail partners, Kretschmar has raised more than $85,000 through sales of Make-A-Wish paper stars sold at stores' registers for $1 donations, employee donations, and sandwich fundraisers. The brand gives these funds to local Make-A-Wish chapters to grant more wishes.
"Make-A-Wish has positively impacted the lives of so many children and their families as they endure the challenges of battling a life-threatening medical conditions," said Michael Baughman, Smithfield Foods director of marketing. "Everyone at Kretschmar is incredibly grateful for Make-A-Wish, and their efforts to grant wishes and change lives.
