SMITHFIELD, Va. – Kretschmar® Premium Deli Meats & Cheeses will help Make-A-Wish bring smiles to children's faces for the seventh consecutive year by extending its partnership with Make-A-Wish through 2018. Kretschmar will donate $105,000 to the non-profit organization, which includes sponsoring three individual wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Since originally partnering with Make-A-Wish in 2012, Kretschmar has donated more than $725,000 nationally and sponsored more than 15 wishes with local chapters through the brand's Legendary Wishes campaign. Along with its retail partners, Kretschmar has raised additional funding through in-store sales of Make-A-Wish paper stars, employee donations, and sandwich fundraisers. Those efforts have raised more than $115,000 for local Make-A-Wish chapters.
"It has been our privilege to partner with Make-A-Wish since 2012, and we are proud to continue working with them in 2018," said Michael Baughman, Smithfield Foods director of marketing. "Kretschmar's consumers and retail partners have shown exceptional support for the promotions we've hosted to benefit Make-A-Wish, which has allowed us to help grant many legendary wishes. We're looking forward to helping this incredible organization grant even more wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions."
"More and more, we are learning that these wishes have a long-term, medically significant impact on wish kids. When Kretschmar Deli commits to helping fund wishes, they are committing to making life better for these kids and their families," said Kathy Forshey, Make-A-Wish America vice president, corporate alliances. "These life-changing wishes simply wouldn't be possible without the generosity of community supporters like Kretschmar Deli."

About Make-A-Wish
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true has positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illness, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. Headquartered in Phoenix, Make-A-Wish is one of the world's leading children's charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 33,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 34 minutes.
