Richfield, WI DCI Cheese Company is running the Taste of Paris promotion featuring the companys imported French cheese brand Joan of Arc. Through April 30, 2010, participating retailers will feature displays that encourage consumers to submit their favorite Joan of Arc-based recipes. Winners of the recipe contest will receive a 14-piece Le Creuset cookware set or a boxed set of Julia Childs 2-volume cookbook, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.” Additionally, free Joan of Arc recipes will be available at the point of sale displays and online at dcicheeseco.com.
Joan of Arc is the oldest trademarked brand of French Brie available in the United States and features a savory, buttery, rich and earthy taste that works well in hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and as a dessert. Joan of Arc also offers other fine French favorites such as Camembert, Coulommiers, Goat Brie, soft Chvre and Roquefort.
Throughout the contest, three free recipes will be available to consumers via tear off pads on the in-store displays and at dcicheeseco.com: Chicken Brie-licious Sandwich; Nutty Brie; and Brie, Mushroom and Black Forest Ham Omelet. Upon completion of the contest, the winning recipes will be posted online for download as well.
Submissions will be accepted online or by mail through April 30, 2010. All entered recipes will be tested by an independent, qualified judging panel at a formal judging session scheduled to be held in May 2010. Judging criteria includes appropriate application/use of Joan of Arc Brie or Camembert cheese (25%), taste (50%) and creativity/originality (25%). Winners will be notified on or about June 15, 2010. One grand prize and six first place prizes will be awarded. The grand prize winner will be awarded a 14-piece Le Creuset cookware set. The first place prize winners will receive Julia Childs “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” boxed set.
