Cheesemonger Invitational Coming This Summer To NYC

The Cheesemonger Invitational (CMI) is an event like no other in the Milky Way.  Forget what you herd, this event is a cheese marathon meets burning man for cheesemongers and turophiles.   It is a celebration of the cheesemonger because they are the last stop before the cheese goes home and a most critical step in caring, sharing and pairing cheese with people.  The Cheesemonger Invitational brings together cheesemongers from around the world to educate and calibrate.  We invite every currently employed cheesemonger to participate.  Simply sign up at www.cheesemongerinvitational.com

For competing mongers CMI is a weekend long celebration that starts on Thursday June 22nd with a private reception.  Friday June 23rd is broken up into two parts:  morning and afternoon.  In the morning we break into small groups for intimate table top conversations with industry leaders in cheese.  In the afternoon we run thru the first half of the preliminary competition.  Saturday June 24th is broken up into three parts:  morning, afternoon and evening.  In the morning we do more intimate table top conversations with industry leaders.  In the afternoon we finish up the preliminary rounds of competition.  And in the evening we open up one of the greatest cheese warehouses in the world to throw an epic cheese party. 

This cheese party is a cheese Bacchanalia with table after table featuring the finest cheese, charcuterie, and accompaniments from around the world.  There will food stations serving grilled cheese, sliders, fondue, and raclette.  And, it’s all you can drink beer, wine, and cider.  Turophiles buy tickets to the party, and while they stuff their face with insane amounts of cheese, we tally up the scores from the preliminary rounds of competition.  Then we announce the top 6 and they compete in a few more rounds of competition before we announce The Cheesemonger Invitational Champion.  The winner wins a trip to England.  Three mongers win a trip to Vermont.  Six mongers win a trip to Wisconsin.  We also give away a ton of cash and prizes.  And everybody walks away inspired by cheese.
