Best Cheese Corporation Joins Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. – Best Cheese Corp., the leading importer of Dutch cheeses in the United States and exclusive importer of Uniekaas Dutch Cheeses, has joined the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance as a founding member.

Best Cheese, along with its sister company, Coach Farm, has called the Hudson Valley home for nearly two decades. The company works with producers across Holland to import an array of specialty Dutch cheeses. It distributes a number of award-winning cheeses, including two already in 2012 at the World Championship Cheese Contest where the company earned gold and silver accolades.

Best Cheese is joining the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance to bring its exceptional products to an already rich market of food and beverages produced in the prosperous Hudson Valley region.

“As a founding member of the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance, we hope to create a program that shares all of the quality goods made right here with the rest of the country and the world,” said Steven Margarites, President of Best Cheese Corp. “There are some outstanding products being produced in the Hudson Valley, made by people who take pride in what they do and make sure they deliver nothing but the best. That's something to be shared."

The Food & Beverage Alliance focuses on helping food and beverage companies in the region work together as strong partners and market their products all over the United States. Launched by the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC), the organization includes food businesses, farmers, vegetable growers, beverage makers, distributors and other organizations in the industry.

Coach Farm is a sister company of Best Cheese and home to more than 25 years of traditional farmstead cheese making, which continues today. The farm has over 700 goats, which are raised, fed and milked on the same Hudson Valley land since its beginning. A wide variety of products, including fresh and aged goat cheeses, goat milk and yogurt, are also handcrafted on the farm and used by many noted chefs, including Mario Batali, Jean-George Vongerichten and Peter X. Kelly.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome this long-standing Hudson Valley company to our new organization,” said Mike Oates, President and CEO of the HVEDC. “Their addition will help us in our mission to broaden the scope of a prosperous industry in this thriving economic region of New York. We welcome them with open arms.”
