Shatto Milk Company Receives Missouri Excellence In Business Award

Shatto Milk Company was awarded the Missouri Excellence in Business Award on February 3, during the University of Missouri Extensions Business Development Program which was held in Jefferson City, Missouri.  This award was given in recognition of Shatto Milk Company’s contributions to the states economic development by achieving the American dream and creating opportunity in Missouri.

The Shatto’s were also presented with a resolution by both the State Senate and House of Representatives congratulating this local family farm on their success over the past decade.

“We are humbled by such an award as it is amazing to think that just eleven years ago we started on this venture to save our local family farm”, said Barbara Shatto  “We are so thankful for everyone that has been part of our story, local and state leaders, the University of Missouri, other small businesses in the area and of course, and most of all, our wonderful neighbors and customers.  We would not be able to do what we love today, without so much support from our community, for that we are grateful!”

Shatto Milk Company has received dozens of other international, national and local awards for its success both as a business as well as in making some of the best dairy products in the world.  This list includes being named the Small Business of the Year Runner-Up by the United States Small Business Administration in 2006.

Shatto Milk Company is a small family dairy farm located 30 miles north of Kansas City.  They began bottling their world famous milk on the farm in June 2003, and have added butter, ice cream, ice cream sammiches, cheese and cheese curds over the past decade.
