Production To Begin At South Side Binghamton Dairy Plant

Dairy processing equipment at Crowley's former plant on Binghamton's South Side will fill milk containers on Monday for the first time in four years.

Zeev Rothschild, a principal in Mountain Fresh Dairy, informed his backers that trial milk processing runs will begin early next week, with commercial production starting Wednesday if all systems are go.

In an email, Rothschild said the plant will start filling cartons with whole milk, 1 percent milk, skim milk and a product called "Skim Milk Plus" at the plant. He noted the timetable is tentative.
