MANHEIM, Pa.– Consumers may have noticed new, vibrant packaging from family-owned Kreider Farms appearing on its dairy products on store shelves. The redesign, which began rolling out last year, marks the first time that the Lancaster County based company has changed its packaging in almost a decade. Going into 2013, Kreider is transitioning its entire dairy product line—milk, ice cream, half and half, buttermilk and heavy cream for both retail and foodservice—to the new packaging.
The redesigned labels star an illustrated cow with a red rose in its mouth on the packaging’s front, a nod to Kreider’s 1,400 cows that produce more than 12,000 gallons of milk on the Farm each day, as well as the family’s history.
“This new packaging is much more than a label—it’s symbolic of our family farms’ roots in Lancaster County,” said Ron Kreider, president and CEO, and third-generation family leader of Kreider Farms. “It reflects our long standing commitment to quality, dedication to sustainability and respect for the land.”
The red rose featured prominently on the new label holds historical significance for both the Kreider family and Lancaster County. The red rose is the symbol for Lancaster County, where Kreider Farms makes its home.
Changes made to the packaging were not restricted to simply a new logo. The company also went from a single label to a double label, with the nutritional label and bar code now located on the back. By doing so, there is more space to share product information on the front.
“We have received excellent feedback from our customers on the new packaging,” said Dave Andrews, Kreider Farms’ vice president of sales and marketing. “We’re excited for what this redesign will mean for our company moving forward.”
