Hood Eggnog Lights The Night At The Milk Bottle

LYNNFIELD, Mass. — Hood EggNog and Boston Children's Museum kicked off the holiday season on Friday by lighting up the giant, iconic Hood Milk Bottle in Boston's historic Fort Point Channel with holiday lights.

The event, dubbed "Hood EggNog Lights the Night at the Milk Bottle," drew hundreds of onlookers of all ages—from Boston Children's Museum as well as from surrounding businesses.

"If you're a fan of Hood EggNog, Boston Children's Museum was the place to be on Friday night," said Lynne Bohan, a spokesperson for HP Hood. "We handed out more than a thousand samples of Hood EggNog, lit a beautiful display of holiday lights at the Milk Bottle and also collected a lot of great winter clothing items for Cradles to Crayons."

As part of the event, Hood and Boston Children's Museum partnered to kick off a winter clothing drive that supports Cradles to Crayons, a Boston-based organization that provides disadvantaged children in Massachusetts with the basic things they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. The drive is running from Dec. 3 to Jan. 2; Hood matched what was collected during the event.

Bohan and Carole Charnow, President, Boston Children's Museum CEO flipped the switch on the Milk Bottle at approximately 6 p.m. The holiday lights display will be on view during the evening through New Year's Day.

Hood EggNog is made from a proprietary recipe that blends extra-creamy milk with sugared egg yolks and a combination of flavorings and spices. It's available in five flavors nationwide: Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Gingerbread, Sugar Cookie and Golden EggNog. Two more flavors—Light and Vanilla—are available in select markets including New England. All of the seven flavors are available for a limited-time only—from around the end of October to the middle of January.
