Harrisburg –The Center for Dairy Excellence and Penn State Extension Dairy Team will host a special statewide Dairy PROS meeting on Thursday, August 15, from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. in the Learning Center Tent at Ag Progress Days in Rock Springs, Pa. The statewide event is intended to expose more dairy professionals to the roundtable discussion and insight shared during regular Dairy PROS meetings.

Dr. John Stanton, professor of food marketing for the Saint Joseph University School of Food Marketing, will lead a discussion on dairy consumption trends in Pennsylvania and how the label can positively influence future sales of fluid milk. For more than 25 years, Dr. Stanton has used his passion for food to fuel a varied and successful career in both academia and industry. He is an internationally-recognized marketing expert known for his numerous contributions to the field.

Exclusively for dairy professionals, Dairy PROS is a series of meetings designed to provide the opportunity for participants to gain information that could help their customers go from “good” to “great.” The August meeting is intended to give those dairy professionals already attending the Ag Progress Days activities an opportunity to learn more about Dairy PROS and what the program can offer.

The meeting in Rock Springs begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and should conclude before Ag Progress Days opens to the public. The Learning Center Tent is located near the Pasto Museum at East 9th and Main Streets. Pre-registration is encouraged. To register, contact the Center for Dairy Excellence at 717-346-0849 or by email at eyeiser@centerfordairyexcellence.org.
