Decision On Double Dated Milk Cartons Is Extended

The Department of Livestock has pushed back a final decision on double dated
milk cartons in Montana. The livestock board wants more time for public
feedback.
The issue of controversy is the difference between a 12-day sell-by date and a
21-day use-by date printed on milk produced out-of-state.
Some retailers like Mark Olson want the 21-day use-by date. Olson claims it
offers consumers better savings, but the state argues the sell-by date provides
consumers the best and freshest milk possible.
