SYRACUSE, N.Y. – American Dairy Association North East’s 2024 annual report – Dairy Checkoff – Evolving for the Future – is now available online here or can be found by clicking on “Annual Reports” under the “About Us” section of AmericanDairy.com.

“We often ask, ‘If not checkoff, then who?’ Who will do the work of promoting milk and dairy foods in schools, in retail and through marketing communications?” said ADA North East CEO John Chrisman. “It’s what we’re here for and we must keep evolving our programs and messages if we want to reach younger consumers and the millennial mom who have the most buying power.

“We constantly create new, innovative programs and campaigns to share the nutritional value of milk and to help consumers connect with those who are producing it every day.”

Read the report for more thoughts from Chrisman, as well as ADA North East President, Audrey Donahoe of Clayville, N.Y., and Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program Chair Lolly Lesher of Bernville, Pa.

“As dairy farmer leaders, we take great pride in what our staff is doing with our checkoff investment,” said Donahoe and Lesher. “We are focused on selling and moving more milk and dairy products, so we have to meet consumers’ needs.

“Checkoff’s promotion programs can’t be one size fits all because everyone at every stage of life can benefit form milk’s nutritional package.”

The comprehensive report also details the association’s programs related to retail, youth educational programs in schools, consumer education and media outreach, farmer advocacy, hunger relief collaborations, environmental partnerships, dairy ambassador and princess programs, and national partnerships.

Financial records are also included in the annual report to outline the income and expenses of dairy farmer checkoff investments.
