NEW YORK — Pennsylvania-based global dessert company Sweet Street Desserts spread its lusciousness throughout New York at the 2010 Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival, October 7-10, celebrating the national launch of its Pipeables™ Mousse Kit and debuting its new "Sweet Ride" dessert mobile.
Food service industry maven Sandy Solmon's Sweet Street Desserts has become the renowned gourmet dessert leader, served in the finest restaurants and cafes worldwide for the past 30 years. Celebrity chefs including Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis, Anne Burrell and Alex Guarnaschelli and food critic Gail Simmons finally met the woman behind these confectionary creations at the food festival's Blue Moon Burger Bash at Fulton Ferry Park in Brooklyn on Friday, October 8 and at Carts in the Parc at the Eventi Hotel FoodParc in Manhattan on Sunday, October 10. Solmon's chef fans raved about the delectable array of cupcakes, dessert bars and the new Pipeables™ Mousses. Chef and Travel Channel personality Andrew Zimmern, host of Carts in the Parc, bit into one of Sweet Street's new oversized Cream Puffs, and promptly proclaimed it "the best cream puff I've ever had."
The Sweet Street "Sweet Ride" dessert mobile, loaded with thousands of Sweet Street treats, made its debut at Union Square on Saturday, where more than 5,000 free samples were handed out to passersby in conjunction with partners Barnes & Noble and ShopRite, the latter the first retailer to carry the company's new Pipeables™ Mousse Kits, which retails for $11.99. Additional retailer partners will be announced soon.
The launch of Pipeables™ Mousse Kits marks Sweet Street's entre into the consumer market, selling directly to customers at grocery stores nationwide. Pipeables™ Mousse Kits help time-starved entertainers and home chefs present great desserts for building a party or bringing fun to the family table. Each kit contains two companion flavors of silky mousse and eight serving cups, perfect for making parfaits or filling, decorating or creating gorgeous desserts. These creative "do-it-yourself" desserts are a fun and easy treat to enjoy in the comfort of one's home.
"The New York City Wine & Food Festival was the perfect place to officially launch our Mousse Kits and the Sweet Ride truck," said Sweet Street Desserts founder and CEO Sandy Solmon. "Sweet Street is thrilled to introduce our retail line to the most discriminating foodies in the country at this great New York City event and we look forward to taking our truck on the road to visit retailers nationwide very soon."
