Washington, D.C.— As the grain-based food industry’s largest, most important trade event in North America, the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) is the ideal venue for addressing the industry’s environmental impact. At IBIE 2013, held October 6-9 in Las Vegas, Nev., 17 B.E.S.T (Becoming Environmentally Sustainable Together) in Baking winners will be celebrated for their stellar sustainability efforts.
Introduced in 2010, the B.E.S.T in Baking program recognizes exhibitors that supply equipment, packaging, ingredients, products and/or services that foster energy and water conservation, decrease landfill waste and promote overall healthy living. For 2013, B.E.S.T in Baking received nearly double the number of entries as 2010, indicating significant growth in sustainable products across the industry.
The coveted B.E.S.T. in Baking designation brings with it a bevy of benefits including mentions in pre-show promotions, the IBIE website and IBIE’s social media channels, plus a dedicated B.E.S.T. in Baking Lounge located in the Las Vegas Convention Center lobby, where all show attendees can learn about the winners while taking a few moments to relax and recharge.
