A fourth-generation master baker who started working at the family business before he was 12, Daniel Freedman has braided thousands of loaves of challah bread.
To help local Jewish families mark Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur this week and next, the Holliston resident will bake a few hundred more.
Freedman, 58, and his wife, Linda, run Blue Moon Bagel Cafe on Main Street in Medfield. They typically field 400 to 500 orders for challah for Rosh Hashana alone, with customers throughout MetroWest.
"We'll work 'round the clock at the holidays," Freedman said last week.
