Iconic Magnolia Bakery Now Franchising Domestically

A popular stop on the “Sex and the City” bus tour, the Magnolia Bakery in the West Village is renowned for its banana pudding and featured in a memorable scene with characters Miranda and Carrie. With twelve stores in the U.S. and 35 international franchises, Magnolia is now set to expand its brand by franchising nationwide after 15 years of international growth.
Hop on any “Sex and the City” bus tour in New York City, and you’re sure to visit the now-iconic Magnolia Bakery location on Bleeker Street in the West Village.
The bakery served as a backdrop for a scene with characters Miranda and Carrie eating cupcakes.
The chain, famous for its banana pudding, has a dozen stores domestically and 35 franchised locations internationally. Magnolia has been franchising outside of the United States for 15 years, but this month the brand announced plans to franchise nationwide.
