LA MIRADA, CA—During their December 4, 2013 Holiday Luncheon, the Fresh Produce & Floral Council (FPFC) will be auctioning opportunities to meet retailers for lunch, dinner or golf.  Caterina’s Club, an Orange-County based organization that provides meals for homeless children, will be the beneficiary of the auction.

Confirmed are Miguel Garcia and Brian Balladares of Ralphs Grocery Company; Alfonso Cano of Northgate Gonzalez Markets; Mark Carroll and Alice Grazziani of Gelson’s; Raul Gallegos of Bristol Farms; Kent Kuwata of Smart and Final; Vince Maggio and Sheryl Salazar of Albertson’s; Liane Mast and Roger Schroeder of Stater Bros. Markets; Bob Rapp of Vallarta Supermarkets; and Danny Trevino from Food 4 Less.

“We’ve done well in past years with a variety of high-end auction items,” says FPFC President Carissa Mace, “but the auctions that raised the most for our charities were those that provided these unique business opportunities for the winners.  Our Luncheon Committee has done a great job of securing retailers for the auction and we anticipate sizable contributions for Caterina’s Club.”

In addition, KFI Radio in Los Angeles has donated in-studio breakfasts with morning radio personality Bill Handel and in-studio dinners with Tim Conway, Jr., host of the station’s weeknight talk show, which will also be auctioned.

The Holiday Luncheon and Charity Auction will be emceed by Rick Cruz of Vons/A Safeway Company and local sports reporters Fred Roggin of NBC4 and Petros Papadakis of Fox Sports Radio will serve as the guest auctioneers.

The luncheon will also feature designer items, event tickets, signed memorabilia, high-end electronics, wine and toys in both live and silent auctions.
