AJ Trucco Inc. is excited to announce that they will be distributing abate fetel pears from Italy in a pilot program that was recently approved by USDA-APHIS and CSO.

Named after Abbé Fetel, a French Abbot who developed the variety in 1866, abate fetel pears are grown in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy. Here, perfect growing conditions combine with centuries of experience to create the most popular pear in Italy and one of the finest varieties of pears in the world. Tall and slim with a russet-tinged green exterior these pears boast a sweet and aromatic flavor, unlike any other pear. Sold with a high sugar content, the abate fetel is a sweet and juicy treat.
