I Love Produce of West Grove, Pennsylvania, as a business-driven initiative, had a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) audit conducted by Primus Labs.  2013 is the first year that I Love Produced went through the GFSI audit process under this new program.

I Love Produce achieved a 96.8% Superior score.

GFSI is a global network of recognized food safety standards that provide retailers, manufacturers and food service operators with confidence in sourcing, comparable audit approaches, and above all, safer food for the consumer.

“With the new FDA regulations for the produce industry coming, we wanted to get ahead of the curve”, said Neil Millman, owner of I Love Produce.  Food Safety and providing a wholesome product to our customers has always been one of our core values”.

Eric Frasse, Food Safety Coordinator and Jorge Zamores, Warehouse Manager spearheaded the effort that lead to the Superior Rating.  “All of our staff deserve a good deal of credit for making improvements for our company and doing their very best of our customers” said Millman.  “Eric and Jorge really did an outstanding job, and we have received some nice emails from our customers because they know how difficult these audits can be”.
