EVESHAM — In the late 1980s, the Super Fresh grocery store on Route 70 boasted of catering to the “yuppie trade.”
“We’re always looking for something different to please the people,” a store manager said in 1987.
Twenty-five years later, Super Fresh will close its Route 70 location Jan. 11, a victim of “underperforming,” company officials said.
It is the last Super Fresh in Burlington County. Two other stores — in Haddon Township, Camden County, and in Plainsboro, Middlesex County — also will close at the same time.
About 255 union workers are affected by the three closings, union representatives said.
