PLANTATION — Paul DeCastro recommends a spicy red or a red muscato if you're eating carrot cake.
That's his job. He's the wine steward at Plantation's new Winn-Dixie, which opened on Wednesday, and he'll be there five days a week to help customers choose their wines. The store is located at 901 North Nob Hill Road.
The store also has a cheese steward, and the two "team up if you're throwing a party," to choose your wine and cheese, DeCastro said.
The two stewards are features of Winn-Dixie's newer prototype of upscale store, which has nine locations in South Florida.
