LONDON – The colours and the opulence of Calabrian cuisine will invade London from 2nd to 4thSeptember at Speciality & Fine Food Fair, among the most important global trade shows dedicated to the best of international gastronomy.
Calabria, the Italian region known for its healthy cuisine and homeland of the Mediterranean diet, will showcase the products of several local leading food companies and raise awareness of its characteristic flavours and traditions among the British audience, increasingly interested in exploring new culinary paths traceable back to the Italian taste.
The three days will be an opportunity to emphasise the high standard of life in the region, thanks to the quality of food and lifestyle that ensure above-average longevity.
Visitors will be able to taste Calabrian delicacies at the dedicated cooking demo station, active on a daily basis from 12.00pm to 2.00pm. On 2nd September it will host star chef Francesco Mazzei, whose Calabrian-infused recipes can be enjoyed at his renowned restaurants in London.
Author and TV presenter Federico Quaranta will be another exceptional ambassador of Calabria.
Antonio Callipari, representative of the Italian Chefs Federation – Calabria Regional Chapter, will serve the recipes during the three days.
Mario Oliverio, President of the Regional Council of Calabria says: "Being in Londonand participating in such an important event as the Speciality & Fine Food Fair is fundamental for the Calabria Region. In this world capital, so interested in global food and wine trends, the Region plays a leading role. It can affirm to be the elected place for the Mediterranean diet, whose virtues are now universally recognized.
