Mann Packing Hires Customer Solutions Manager

SALINAS, Calif. – Mann Packing is adding Scott Wise to its team; beginning Aug. 8, Wise has the new role of customer solutions manager at Mann Packing. Wise has more than 27 years of experience in the fresh produce and consumer packaged goods industries.

Wise was previously with Chiquita Brands (Fresh Express) where he held a variety of sales and customer service positions for 18 years. Prior to that, he worked for almost 10 years as a commodity sales representative and product manager for Bruce Church Incorporated.

John Haydock, senior vice president of sales, said, “While our foodservice business continues to grow, there is an abundance of opportunities that require additional support for the foodservice sales team. Rick Russo’s role has expanded to director of foodservice and customers solutions. As such, Scott will be managing our internal customer solutions department so Rick can further support our foodservice sales team.”

Mann is also announcing a small restructuring of the resources dedicated to its customer solutions department: Cody Ramsey has been promoted from sales associate to account executive. Julie Smith, Rosa Perez and Irish Chapman have been promoted from sales assistants to sales associates. Sherry Castro has been promoted from replenishment analyst to sales associate.

“Each of these team members have made valuable contributions to Mann Packing and we are excited about their expanded roles and the leadership Scott will be bringing to the team,” Haydock said.

In the marketing department, Mann is promoting Elena Hernandez to marketing and communication specialist. Hernandez joined Mann in April of 2008 as a marketing assistant.

Lorri Koster, vice president of marketing, said, “Elena has been a valuable resource to both sales and marketing throughout the years. She manages our promotions and recently took over the management of our media buys as well as our public relations efforts.”

Hernandez is a graduate of California State University in Chico, and holds a bachelor of science degree in agricultural business (plant science) with a minor emphasis in marketing. Prior to joining Mann she was a new product development technician with Shamrock Seed Company and held marketing internships at Driscolls and Natural Selection Foods (Earthbound Farm).
