INDEPENDENCE – On March 7th and 8th 2017, the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association hosted its 19th Biennial United States Championship Cheese Contest in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Forty-Eight expert judges from around the nation carefully sniffed, tasted and examined a record number 2,303 cheeses, butters and yogurts in 101 contest classes. The contest received entries from a record 33 states.
Wapsie Valley entered their Colby Jack into the Natural Sliced Cheese Category along with 13 other entries from around the U.S. and was awarded second place with a score of 98.10 out of a possible score of 100.
