The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association™ (IDDBA) added Giada De Laurentiis to the speaker lineup at IDDBA 17. Her presentation is titled, “It Started in the Kitchen.” IDDBA 17 runs June 4-6 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

Emmy Award winning television personality, New York Times bestselling author, Today correspondent, Food Network Star judge, restaurateur, and chef, Giada De Laurentiis has an impressive list of accomplishments.

Born in Rome, Giada found her passion for food at a young age, because growing up in a large Italian family, food culture was a staple. Trained professionally at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, she specialized in cuisine and pastry and when she returned to America, worked at many Los Angeles restaurants. Her career took off after she starred on the Food Network in 2002 and she has become one of their most recognizable faces from her Emmy Award winning cooking show, Everyday Italian, which features quick, healthy, and satisfying Italian dishes.

Giada has also authored eight cookbooks, and writes a series for young readers that explores cities around the world, including youth-friendly recipes. She recently launched her lifestyle site, Giadzy, that features videos, recipes, advice, and entertaining and lifestyle tips.  And in the spirit of giving back, Giada is active with The Kitchen Community and many organizations that raise money and awareness for cancer.

The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association™ (IDDBA) added Doug Rauch to the speaker lineup at IDDBA 17. Rauch’s presentation is titled “Food Waste: The Bigger Issue.” IDDBA 17 runs June 4-6 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

As Trader Joe’s past president, Doug Rauch helped transform a company that started as a 7/11 knockoff become the hottest retailer in America. He developed their prized buying philosophy, created its unique private label program, and wrote and executed the business plan for expanding Trader Joe’s nationally.

In 2008, after 31 years with Trader Joe’s, Rauch “graduated” to focus on several social challenges he is passionate about. He is currently CEO of Conscious Capitalism, which looks at how four specific tenets—higher purpose, stakeholder integration, conscious leadership, and conscious culture—can simultaneously build stronger businesses and improve society.  He was also a recent senior fellow at the Harvard University Advanced Leadership Initiative, where he focused on the challenges of food waste, hunger, and obesity. Out of this fellowship he became the founder/president of Daily Table, a unique, nonprofit retail concept designed to bring affordable nutrition to the food insecure in our cities
