FreshDirect Names New CEO

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY — Online grocer FreshDirect has appointed Jason Ackerman, co-founder and chief financial officer, as CEO, effective immediately.
Ackerman, a member of the company's board, replaces Rick Braddock, who left in March after three years as CEO. Fresh Direct did not say why Braddock left, but his departure coincided with a $50 million investment in the company by WmMorrison Supermarkets PLC, Britian's fourth-largest food retailer.
Ackerman, 44, has served as Chief Financial Officer for seven years.
