BOULDER, Colo. — Eco-Products is launching a new line of compostable plates, bowls and cups made for the host who wants to make a colorful statement – for their party and for the environment.
The new line – called "Eco-Products Colors" – comes in a wide array of designs made to stand out from other compostable products.

Eco-Products Colors features hot cups, cold cups, plates, and utensils. The line comes in a variety of designs and colors, including green, yellow, black and grey.
The new line is made from 100 percent renewable resources. The plates, made from sugarcane, are sturdy and won't bend, even while holding a pile of food. And the cups and cutlery are made with Ingeo™, a naturally advanced plant-based plastic. Everything is certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI).
That simplifies things for good hosts: Instead of asking guests to throw out their leftover food in one bin and their recyclables in another, everything can be tossed into the same bin for composting.
"No one has to scrape cheese off their plate before throwing it away," Martinez said. "Everything can go into the same bin. It simplifies life for everyone."
Eco-Products ordinarily sells its products in bulk — to stadiums, festivals, universities and restaurants. But the company decided to make this line available in quantities easily purchased by consumers, such as 15 plates in a package.
"We found that a lot of people wanted to be environmentally-friendly hosts, but they wanted more imaginative options," Martinez said.
