French Bakery President: Valley's Fortunes Rising

When Julien Caron and his colleagues at Norac came to the United States looking for a place to make their tasty French pastries, the Lehigh Valley was only one of the places the company examined.

Caron is president of Norac Group USA, the U.S. subsidiary of a large French bakery that is establishing its first U.S. production facility in Northampton County, a 79,160-square-foot operation at 4300 Braden Blvd. East in Forks Township, across from the Army Reserve Center.

While the region's central location gave it a big boost in the competition, the Valley's manufacturing legacy really made the company feel at home here, he said.
