The Colour Your Life Program is an exciting new promotional initiative of Plant Publicity Holland, designed to engage all parties in the value chain to bring a greater awareness to the consumer of the value of plants and green spaces. Built on the popular Garden Messenger program, the new Colour Your Life campaign harnesses the power of internet technologies to promote plants and the quality of life that they can provide by giving retailers the resources they need to attract customers to their garden centers.

Further building on the excitement that this new promotional initiative has generated within the sector, the campaign was enhanced this year by inviting nursery growers to participate through an all new Colour Your Life award integrated into the Plantarium trade show.

Participating exhibitors at this year’s Plantarium trade show were challenged to present plants or related products with the greatest X-factor – that is plants with added value or plants with a story to tell on how they can add value to our lives and our environment.

After all, noted Colour Your Life campaign organizers, growers are the experts when it comes to the products they produce and sell. By sharing what they know, consumers will become even more aware of the benefits of plants.

One of the most important criteria of the X-factor awards program is the growers’ ability to tell their story effectively and creatively, thereby ensuring an even greater appreciation by the consumer.

The professional jury pre-selected 10 plants to be displayed at the Plant Publicity Holland booth. These nominees were also invited to participate each day of the show on Plantarium’s ‘catwalk’. The winning entry was selected by the audience and the ‘Colour your Life’ award was presented by IKEA sales manager Christiaan Welker on the last day of the event.

Held every year in Boskoop, The Netherlands, Plantarium is one of the country’s most important trade shows devoted exclusively to the sale and promotion of quality Dutch-grown nursery stock plants for the amenity marketplace.
