Alstroemeria is a special flower in beautiful colours and with a special twisted leaf. They are the symbol of friendship and therefore a great gift. A remarkable feature of Alstroemeria is the fact that when they open they reveal a surprise. When you buy your alstroemeria's the buds often show a little colour red, yellow, white or green. However when the buds open, with most cultivars, a stunning tigerprint is revealed!
Alstroemeria are prone to leaf yellowing. Using a post-harvest product such as Chrysal BVB prevents leaf yellowing and ensures a good bud opening. When combined with Chrysal AVB, Alstroemeria are also protected against ethylene so that premature aging and the dropping of buds is prevented.
In the flower shop it is important to put Alstroemeria in clean water with Chrysal Professional 2. This prolongs vase life and helps the flower develop and give it some colour without the buds opening too much.
