HEALDSBURG — Demand for artisan breads and pastries from Costeaux French Bakery has grown beyond what can efficiently be done in the Healdsburg store, so the company has moved production to a newly built bakery near Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport.
On June 29, Costeaux relocated its main bakery from Healdsburg to a new 30,000-square-feet baking center on Westwind Boulevard. The shift was completed within 72 hours to maintain continuity of production and meet delivery schedules.
“With 10 percent year-over-year growth, business has been steady, and the company needed room to expand,” said Will Seppi, general manager and second-generation owner. Karl and Nancy Seppi bought the company in 1981. “A new building was constructed with enough space to house a large storeroom, several new ovens, car-size mixers, washing facilities and preparation tables as well as administrative offices. Large doors at the rear of the building allow delivery trucks to pick up fresh baked goods daily that Costeaux distributes throughout the North Bay.”
