La Chiquita Tortilla Manufacturer, which has a manufacturing plant in Atlanta, is considering a second plant in Orlando with up to 110 employees.
The company is seeking incentives from state and local governments, on the condition that the average wage for the jobs be $43,680, which is slightly above the Florida state average wage.
According to documents filed with the city, La Chiquita is a family-owned business that offers custom products while also servicing national chain restaurants. Orlando's reputation as a hub for the restaurant industry could make the city a natural fit for La Chiquita. The company has 182 employees in Atlanta.
