Washington, D.C. – The National Grocers Association (NGA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Troy Wolfe as Director of Membership and Engagement, West. In this role, Wolfe will focus on strengthening relationships with current members, expanding NGA’s membership across the Western United States, and identifying new opportunities to engage independent grocers, wholesalers and other industry partners.
Based in Oregon, Wolfe brings decades of grocery industry experience spanning independent retail, chain operations, wholesale distribution, sales and business development. His background provides a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing independent grocers and the businesses that support them.
Prior to joining NGA, Wolfe held leadership positions with C&S Wholesale Grocers, where he most recently served as Senior Manager of Accounts and Business Development, and UNFI, where he worked as a Sales Consultant. Throughout his career, Wolfe has focused on building strategic relationships, developing sales and business growth strategies, and working collaboratively with retailers, suppliers and industry partners.
In his new role, Wolfe will work closely with NGA colleagues to deepen engagement with existing members, recruit new members and strengthen connections with state grocery associations and other industry organizations throughout the Western United States. He will also help identify opportunities to expand NGA’s reach and connect more members with the association’s programs, resources and signature events, including the NGA Show. Kari Wolkwitz, NGA’s Director of Membership Engagement & Growth, will continue to lead membership and engagement efforts in the Eastern United States.
“Troy brings a valuable combination of wholesale, retail and business development experience to NGA,” said Jonathan Downey, NGA COO & SVP. “His firsthand understanding of the independent grocery industry and his longstanding relationships across the industry will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our member relationships and expand our presence throughout the Western United States.”
