DELTA, British Columbia — WINDSET FARMS® has received the Environmental Impact Award at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s fifth annual Business Distinction Awards, recognizing its commitment to resource-efficient greenhouse production.
Windset’s investments in renewable hydroelectricity, energy-efficient LED lighting, water recycling and advanced climate controls support a clear objective: growing premium vegetables more efficiently while delivering consistent quality and reliable, year-round supply.
Celebrating three decades as a family-owned grower, the company’s greenhouse operations span 298 acres, including 130 acres in Delta, British Columbia. With 86 acres of ultra-lit production, the Delta site is the largest lit greenhouse vegetable facility in Western North America. Windset grows tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and specialty vegetables for customers across North America and international markets.
“Every investment we make has to help us grow better—for our customers, our business and the environment,” said John Newell, Co-Owner of Windset Farms. “By using resources more efficiently and strengthening year-round production, we’re building a business our customers can depend on and delivering vegetables families can trust for flavour, freshness and quality. This award belongs to our entire team that puts that commitment into practice every day.”
