As a summertime favorite, sweet corn dominated Fourth of July backyard barbecues.
That’s according to research conducted by agtools, a worldwide SaaS (Software as a Service) platform that gathers real-time government and institutional data of more than 500 specialty crops and commodities.
“Sweet corn is a true staple of U.S. summer heritage, with its sharpest demand spike of the entire year occurring right during the recent 4th of July holiday week!,” according to the report.
“Did you know? U.S. per capita availability of fresh sweet corn stands at 6.7 pounds per person annually. To feed that massive holiday rush, top growing regions hit peak production: Florida accounted for 39.58% of all sweet corn’s volume in 2025, with Mexico and Georgia completing the top three supply powerhouses.”
Agtools’ platform includes algorithms for farmers, buyers and others in the supply chain covering market demands, labor trends, transportation costs and other factors.
