BELLINGHAM, WA — Trans-Ocean Products, Inc., producer of the nation’s top-selling retail brand of surimi seafood, announces several key staff appointments that will support the company’s continued focus on quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and product innovation.

John Viechnicki has been appointed Audit & Compliance Manager. In this role, he will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory audit requirements and applicable industry standards. He will also work closely with ingredient and packaging suppliers to monitor and verify adherence to Trans-Ocean’s quality and food safety expectations. Viechnicki brings extensive experience in quality assurance management and sustainability development to the position, including 14 years at Trans-Ocean Products and prior roles at Portland Shellfish and Bumble Bee Foods.

Laura Macaulay has been appointed Quality Assurance Manager, leading the development and execution of food safety systems and guiding internal teams on quality and safety initiatives. Macaulay brings more than 20 years of experience in quality assurance management, coming to Trans-Ocean Products from quality management positions at Healthy Pet and Enfield Farms.

Prairva (Summer) Plepalakon has joined Trans-Ocean Products as a Food Scientist, focusing on ingredient analysis, product formulation, and data-driven experimentation. A recent graduate of the University of California, Davis, Plepalakon will also leverage advanced AI tools to support innovation and play a key role in new product development initiatives that address consumer preferences and reflect Trans-Ocean’s commitment to product innovation.
