Global Dairy Leader Highlights Premium Dutch Craftsmanship, Hispanic Flavor Innovation, and Specialty Cheese Growth at Booth #4217
IDDBA 2026 will take place June 7–9, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
PARAMUS, NJ — As consumers continue to seek premium, globally inspired cheeses with authentic stories, elevated flavor profiles, and culinary versatility, FrieslandCampina is bringing its award-winning specialty cheese portfolio to the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) Show at Booth #4217, with a spotlight on the debut of its newly rebranded Rembrandt® line, alongside the continued expansion of Gayo Azul® and Royal Hollandia®.
Leading the presentation is the evolution of A Dutch Masterpiece® into Rembrandt®, a strategic rebrand designed to strengthen the brand’s premium positioning while honoring the artistry, craftsmanship, and Dutch heritage that have long defined the line.
Inspired by the iconic Dutch painter, the Rembrandt identity creates a stronger emotional connection with consumers while preserving the recipes, aging techniques, and award-winning flavor profiles retailers and cheese lovers already trust. The refreshed portfolio includes the brand’s signature 6-Month Aged Gouda and 12-Month PDO Gouda, alongside specialty varieties including Robusto and Goat Gouda.
The 12-Month PDO Gouda, produced in North Holland using traditional methods, delivers deep caramel notes, a crystalline texture, and a bold, nutty finish designed for discerning cheese consumers and premium entertaining occasions. The 6-Month Gouda offers a smoother, more approachable profile ideal for everyday charcuterie boards, sandwiches, and casual entertaining. Meanwhile, Robusto delivers a firm texture and pronounced aged flavor, while Goat Gouda offers a creamy, tangy twist within the Gouda category.
Further reinforcing the brand’s premium positioning, Rembrandt recently earned top honors at the 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest, with its 6-Month Gouda receiving a Gold Medal and Robusto earning a Bronze Medal.
“The transition to Rembrandt from A Dutch Masterpiece is about elevating a brand that has always stood for exceptional quality and craftsmanship,” said Josh Rosen. “We’re building a stronger, more emotionally resonant identity that reflects the artistry behind our cheeses while staying true to the recipes, aging processes, and flavors that our customers already know and trust. The awards we’ve received this year reinforce that we’re delivering on both taste and quality at the highest level.”
The Rembrandt rebrand also introduces a sophisticated new visual direction inspired by classic Dutch artistry, featuring moody lighting, rustic textures, and charcuterie-forward merchandising imagery designed to elevate shelf presence and inspire premium entertaining occasions.
In addition to Rembrandt, FrieslandCampina is showcasing the continued growth of Gayo Azul, a beloved brand that blends Dutch cheesemaking expertise with Hispanic culinary traditions. At IDDBA, Gayo Azul is highlighting its broad portfolio of cheeses designed to meet increasing consumer demand for versatility, flavor exploration, and multicultural meal inspiration.
The lineup includes Red Wax Gouda, Edam, Mature Edam, Swiss, Queso Blanco, Queso Para Freír, and Cotija, available in multiple formats including wheels, wedges, sliced deli options, and fresh grilling cheeses.
Each variety offers distinct culinary functionality and flavor appeal. Gouda delivers buttery richness and exceptional meltability, Edam provides a creamy, smooth finish, while Queso Blanco and Queso Para Freír maintain their structure when heated, making them ideal for grilling and frying. Cotija adds bold, salty complexity to tacos, salads, and street corn, while Swiss offers nutty sweetness perfect for sandwiches and hot applications.
“Gayo Azul has been a trusted staple in many kitchens for years, and we are thrilled to continue expanding the lineup,” added Rosen. “With the growing influence of Hispanic flavors in today’s kitchens and across the cheese category, we see tremendous opportunity for these versatile, flavor-forward cheeses to inspire new usage occasions and drive consumer engagement at home.”
Also featured at IDDBA is Royal Hollandia, FrieslandCampina’s premium Dutch cheese brand known for its authentic imported cheeses, rich flavor development, and commitment to traditional Dutch cheesemaking excellence. Royal Hollandia continues to resonate with consumers seeking globally inspired specialty cheeses that deliver both premium taste and versatility across entertaining, snacking, and culinary applications.
As part of a strategic portfolio update, Royal Hollandia is introducing smaller exact-weight in from 8. oz and 6.oz to 5.oz formats on select items to better align with evolving consumer preferences for more accessible portion sizes. These updated formats are expected to encourage trial while delivering clear retailer benefits, including faster shelf rotation and more approachable price points — all while maintaining the brand’s premium quality and versatility across entertaining, snacking, and culinary occasions. All new sizes are 5.5 oz in such flavors as Gouda, Edam, and Emmental.
Together, the FrieslandCampina portfolio reflects the continued momentum of the specialty cheese category, where consumers increasingly prioritize authenticity, craftsmanship, heritage, and elevated flavor experiences. From award-winning aged Dutch cheeses to Hispanic-inspired everyday favorites, FrieslandCampina’s brands are uniquely positioned to help retailers drive growth across deli, specialty cheese, prepared foods, and entertaining occasions.
