Somerdale International is celebrating a record year in the USA with its sales and distribution of the very best British and Irish specialty cheese growing strongly for the 12 months to end of March 2026.  Alongside an uplift in sales of its comprehensive range of great tasting classic and contemporary British cheeses, Somerdale’s success has also been driven by its expanding range of innovatively packaged, taste-bud tantalizing, celebratory cheeses.

Cheeses that have been specifically created to bring fun, excitement and a touch of decadence to themed cheeseboards and meals to help celebrate the likes of St Patrick’s Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.

With this in mind, Somerdale will be showcasing and sampling its range of superb tasting celebratory cheeses ideal for the Holiday Season at the IDDBA Show being held in Orlando, Florida from 7-9th June and the SFA’s Summer Fancy Food show in New York City from 28-30th June.

These will include the deliciously decadent:

  • Somerdale Grand Reserve Champagne Cheddar:  A premium classic English Cheddar infused with the subtle fruitiness of Champagne.  This complex cheese has a luxuriously creamy texture and wonderful fruity notes and is perfect for any celebration or that special Holiday cheeseboard.  One of Somerdale’s bestsellers globally, waxed 4.4IIb rounds of Champagne Cheddar were stocked in over 3,000 stores across the USA last year.

New for 2026, in addition to the waxed round, will be Somerdale Grand Reserve Champagne Cheddar in a convenient, stunning looking, 5.3oz waxed parchment flow wrap format.  Available in cases of 12 x 5.3oz packs, this means the ultimate celebration cheese is set to appear in even more stores this Holiday Season!

  • Somerdale Truffler Cheddar:  A sumptuous cheese that delivers a taste sensation by infusing moreish Mature English Cheddar with the rich, intense umami flavour of Black Summer Truffles.  Specifically created for the US market, Truffler Cheddar is available in a black waxed 4.4IIb round with an eye-catching silver and gold hand drawn label which is sure to provide real theatre to any deli cabinet cheese display.  While Truffler is also available in a convenient but no less stunning 5.3oz pre-pack format.
  • Somerdale ‘Festive Stars & Trees’: Fun and festive, Somerdale’s red, white and green waxed Stars & Trees are sure to be the ideal centre piece for any Christmas cheese board.

The Somerdale booth will also showcase its ‘spooktacular’ range of Halloween cheeses ideal for ‘trick or eating’:

  • Wensleydale with Pumpkin Spice combines a creamy, unrinded, Wensleydale (one of England’s oldest cheeses first made by monks in the north of England around the 11th century) with a specially created pumpkin spice blend of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon. The natural acidity and sweetness of the white cheese pairs perfectly with the warmth of the pumpkin spice creating a taste sensation. Available in vibrant pumpkin orange waxed 5.3oz truckles that will deliver a real standout appeal to any cheese case.
  • Bloody Good Cheddar!: Somerdale’s great-tasting and ghoulishly fun Bloody Good Cheddar!  is available in 7oz black waxed ‘coffin-shaped’ truckles. The scarily moreish cheese is a traditionally made mature, deep red, cheddar.  Aged to perfection it delivers sweet notes that overlay a bold, robust flavour profile that will leave taste buds craving for more.

Visitors to the Somerdale booth will also be able to sample its unparalleled selection of the very best premium specialty British and Irish cheese.  This includes classic Farmhouse Cheddars, such as the iconic Barber’s 1833 Vintage Reserve Cheddar made by the world’s oldest surviving Cheddar-makers;  the wonderfully rich iconic blue-veined Stilton, the King of British Cheese; Cashel Blue the award-winning, semi-soft, creamy Irish blue cheese celebrated for its melt-in-the-mouth layers of flavour; together with a growing range of Somerdale’s moreish blended cheeses including the classic Wensleydale and Cranberry.
