As we mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, the American Bakers Association (ABA) is proud to celebrate 250 years of baked goods at the center of American life.

From everyday meals to holiday traditions, the commercial baking industry has long been a pillar of America’s economy and food supply, helping nourish families nationwide. With operations in all 50 states, the baking industry generates nearly 800,000 jobs and supports essential supply chains that deliver fresh, dependable baked goods for millions of Americans each day. Commercial baking is proud to be a cornerstone of economic resilience, food security, and American tradition.

“Baked goods have helped nourish Americans and connect families for 250 years, from daily meals to special moments,” said Eric Dell, ABA President and CEO. “This celebration of our nation’s anniversary is an opportunity to also honor the baking community’s care and craftsmanship while underscoring the essential role commercial baking plays in feeding Americans and supporting a strong, resilient economy.”
