SAN-J, the legacy Japanese soy sauce producer since 1804, has continued its collaboration with global creator Kimono Mom aka Moe. San-J x Kimono Mom have developed two new variations of their seminal product release UMAMI SAUCE.

A former geisha from Japan, Moe moved to the US last year and has been traveling across the country with her husband and six-year-old daughter, living in an RV and sharing the warmth of Japanese home cooking with local communities. The UMAMI SAUCE series, born from this cross-cultural journey, makes authentic Japanese flavors more accessible to home cooks everywhere.

The new flavor variation Spicy UMAMI SAUCE combines San-J Tamari – steeped with shiitake mushroom and kombu seaweed – and layered with cayenne pepper to bring up the heat! The second flavor expression, Yuzu UMAMI SAUCE, features a San-J Tamari base, umami and Japanese yuzu to create a complex, harmonious blend of mouthwatering richness and refreshing zest.

Made with authentic methods and premium ingredients, Kimono Mom’s new UMAMI SAUCE expressions offer a rich, savory blend that makes it easy to prepare authentic Japanese dishes with just one bottle. Small amounts of the concentrated elixir can be used to create robust marinades, dips, dressings, and condiments, as well as broth-based preparations like ramen, soba, and udon.

The Spicy and Yuzu UMAMI SAUCE are now available at Sprouts Farmers Market and will be coming soon to Raley’s.
