Changes in the Management Team of Van Zanten Breeding

As of October 1st, a new management structure will be implemented at Van Zanten Breeding, with Joost Kos stepping in as Managing Director, while Maarten Goos and Martijn Swinkels will transition from daily management but remain as shareholders. This strategic shift, endorsed by the board, aims to strengthen the company’s focus on genetics and operational management without disrupting existing team functions. The commitment to developing strong varieties and fostering collaborations remains unchanged.
As of October 1st, our company will have a new management structure. Joost Kos will become our Managing Director. Maarten Goos and Martijn Swinkels will step down from daily management.
This is a conscious decision taken by the board of directors. Much has been invested and changed in recent years. We are ready to build on strong middle management, valuable genetics, and a clear vision and strategy. We believe this is the right time to move to a smaller board together with focused operational management.
Both Maarten and Martijn will remain associated with Van Zanten Breeding as shareholders. Maarten will also continue in his role as managing director of Koninklijke Van Zanten B.V.
This change reflects the current stage of our company. We have worked diligently in recent years to strengthen our organization and sharpen our focus. Our promise remains the same: developing strong varieties, building market success together, and continuing to invest in plant quality and innovation.
Little will change for our customers and partners. There will be no changes to the functions and responsibilities within our team. We will continue to focus on successful and sustainable collaborations with the same dedication and passion.
