Newark, Del. Produce Marketing Association (PMA) will reach out to international members and the industry at the Expo ANTAD, to be held March 10-12 in Guadalajara, Mexico by ANTAD (La Asociacin Nacional de Tiendas de Autoservicio y Departamentales). Vice President of Global Business Development Nancy Tucker will speak during a conference seminar, and the association will participate as an exhibitor, rolling out the Spanish-language version of its popular E-ssentials training for supermarket produce departments.

Mexico is a vital part of our North American supply chain and the global produce market, said Tucker. We see ANTAD as a key show to meet with our Mexican partners, and to continue to expand our offerings to our Spanish-language members.

Tucker will speak Thursday, March 11, 2010 on the impact of economic changes on the produce industry in North America. PMA is also sending Director of Member Relations Paula Gonzalez and PMA Mexico country representative Alejandro Larreategui to the show in Guadalajara. PMAs booth is located at 1839 and 1840.

PMA will also be back in Guadalajara May 20, 2010 for a Fresh Connections event, Tucker said. Were working to finalize the details now.

E-ssentials is a comprehensive set of retail produce training courses covering topics from customer service to merchandising, food safety and more. E-ssentials gives produce staff the skills they need to increase sales and create a great shopping experience for customers. It is now available in five forms: online with a Learning Management System, online without the Learning Management System, as a workbook, as a CD for those without online capability in store, and as onsite training. All versions are now available in Spanish.
