Perdue Foods will add 190 jobs at its Mid-Atlantic Replenishment Center in Prince George County, bringing the total number of employees to more than 500 and making the chicken distribution plant one of the county’s three top employers.
Perdue announced the job increase Thursday as well as a $3 million investment in additional equipment for the plant.
Jeffrey D. Stoke, economic development director for Prince George, said the added employees will bring Perdue very close to that of automotive parts distributor Standard Motor Products and the Food Lion distribution center as the county’s biggest employers.
