DALLAS – Avocados From Mexico (AFM), today announced the return of its Cinco Delicioso campaign. The retail trade promotion is designed to inspire shoppers and increase Avocados From Mexico consumption by focusing on guacamole for Cinco de Mayo fiestas or gatherings leading up to Cinco de Mayo. Avocados From Mexico is also partnering for the third year with TABASCO® Brand to amp up the flavor in their guacamole for shoppers and retailers!
Cinco De Mayo drives extraordinary Mexican food consumption in the U.S. and avocados are an important food in the celebration of this holiday,” said Maggie Bezart-Hall, Vice President, Trade & Promotion. “We are so excited to be part of shoppers’ Cinco celebrations and bring the festivities to our retailers with the Cinco Delicioso program with impactful merchandising and a variety of pre-shop tactics. This program will drive sales and encourage fans to consume Avocados From Mexico and TABASCO® Sauce.”
The Cinco Delicioso program is set to run April 2 to May 5 and will be promoted through an integrated marketing campaign reaching shoppers along their avocados purchase journey with vibrant co-merchandising featuring Avocados From Mexico and TABASCO® Sauce that will also feature free ripening bags. The ripening bags will include educational tips and recipes. AFM is making it easy for retailers to promote the campaign with these eye-catching in-store displays and in-store radio to highlight the celebration and grab shoppers’ attention. Merchandising also includes in-store display bins and POS, custom die-cut display signs, ripening bags, and “papel picado,” a decorative fiesta-inspired banner.
Consumers can also take advantage of big savings this Cinco season with co-branded digital and tear pad coupons. Through Coupons.com, shoppers can save $1 when they buy any size of TABASCO® Sauce and 2 Avocados From Mexico.
In an effort to inspire shoppers to purchase Avocados From Mexico for their fiestas, the campaign continues online for avo-lovers with a Cinco Delicioso microsite and a robust paid social program. Users can also view and try several AFM and TABASCO® Sauce guacamole recipe videos and discover the AvoGuru Integration, a Cinco-only Chatbot conversation branch which prompts users with videos, recipes, and coupons. Each video will also be accompanied by an easy-access shopping list, making for a quick, simple, and mouth-watering experience.
To help promote, AFM will run these recipe videos as posts on its popular social media platforms to increase pre-shopping consideration. The new recipe videos will be hands-over style, incorporate TABASCO® Family of Flavors® as a flavor-enhancing ingredient, and emphasize a stronger creative tie to Mexicanity: fun, vibrant, and ready for a Cinco Delicioso. In addition, AFM has established a retargeting feature that sends a version of the post with an offer directly to users who have seen the recipe video posts, in an effort to target an audience that has already taken an active interest in the content.
